Our little warrior baby with TB had to be readmitted to the hospital (again) because of spiking fevers (+39!) and vomiting….We also found out he is HIV+ with extremely low blood counts, so his dear immune system is overwhelmed (keep praying….may it be overwhelmed by the healing power of JESUS). The doctors are trying another TB medicine and a stronger antibiotic (he seems to have some other infection too). The great news is that we have seen great improvements in the past 2 days! He ate almost a whole boiled egg yesterday which was quite encouraging because his appetite was so weak previously. We have him on a high protein diet, but getting him to eat at times is very challenging. He is in good sprits with a laugh and smile which melts our hearts….and yesterday when Carolyn (our mission graduate intern/future director of Iris Madagascar) was leaving his room, he called out “Momma” which has been the first word we have ever heard him speak! We are believing for his quick healing and advancement in all the learning milestones like speech, walking, etc!
Healing in the works!
Thank you for praying for the Baby House. Our little one was released from the hospital last Friday! The doctors tested his spectrum again and ruled he was not contagious. Boy, was he happy to leave:) It was so precious watching him smile and wave goodbye to the nurses. He is doing much better at home now…he is even sleeping completely through the night! His appetite is still not what it needs to be, so please pray for that. At almost 16 months, he is unable to crawl, walk, or even stand on his legs for longer than a minute. We should know his HIV testing results within the next month, but everything seems to be pointing to that. We are believing for absolute healing for every area- TB, HIV, and the delayed milestones. Amen!
Pray for the Baby House!
Please be praying for our Baby House! Our eldest baby was just diagnosed with Tuberculosis. He was very sick when we received him and he had a very rough first week. We constantly were praying over him, but his fever and cough continued to worsen. We finally tracked down his former doctor (since he was abandoned at the hospital) and learned some of his medical history. In the end, since TB is so highly contagious, we readmitted him to the hospital for 3 weeks of TB treatment. Please be praying for our sweet baby boy and our staff! We cannot release his name online, but Jesus knows him very well, so just pray in the Spirit for him!!! He hates the hospital understandably and has quite a hard time when we leave after our visits. The hospitals in SA are quite nice compared to Mozambique and he is very blessed to have several nurses who adore him. Since we had our sweet little guy for 10 days of coughing, vomiting, etc; most of our missionary staff needs to be tested for TB. Please be praying for supernatural healing and protection. Tomorrow, four of us are going to be tested together, so we are calling it our Healing TB party:) Never a dull moment, yeah?
